Finally! A date has been set for my surgery. It wil be on Teus, the 26th. I have to be there at 5:30am - blech! Today I had to go do some pre-op stuff: draw blood, ekg, and chest x-rays. Not quite sure, but I guess they have to make sure you are healthy enough to have the surgery. I was reading a pamphlet on craniotomy, and there was a drawing of which parts of the brain control what. The area where the aneurysm is affects things like movement, memory, and personality. I asked Darren if he would still love me if my personality changed and I became.... nice! ha ha. Anyway, I suppose I should be more worried than I am about this. I know it is a major surgery, but... I don't know, I am just not that worried about it. Maybe I am in denial. Of course, if things do not go right, most likely I will not know about it anyway because I'll either be dead, or brain damaged. Although it would totally suck to be a vegetable, but be concious and aware. But the probablitlity of those things is pretty small. No, I am currently wondering what color I should make my mohawk - as I will shave the other half of my head to match. Jacob says blue, Ella says purple, so who knows.
On to the school. I am soooooo frustrated that I will not be able to attend the aug 30 meeting (because I will still be in the hospital)! We have pretty recently gotten a surge of interest and alot of new people are going to be there. Some seem to be interested in becoming founders with us - good, because we could use some more help, and frankly some more money to pay for upcoming expenses.
We decided that starting late Sept, Kim, Ali/Kaya, and I are going to do a "dem school". In other words we are going to meet 3 times a week with our kids. We will start hammering out some of the tedious managament stuff and at the same time be able to start gaining experience on how the school will run. Should be interesting.
